Greg’s Eleventh Birthday

December 17, 2009

Smiles All Around

This present was from our Grandma. She lives in Vancouver and was unable to watch him open her gifts. She was on the phone the whole time though, it was quite adorable.

Holly Jolly Season

This is a picture of a Christmas tree! I love the bokeh effect. I think it makes for quite a neat picture. I got the inspiration for this from http://www.slrphotographyguide.com/tips/bokeh-DOF.shtml.

  1. Alright, so for the bokeh shot, what would really make it killer is if there were an ornament in the foreground. That would make the subject just pop. Bokeh is really cool effect, but make sure you use it appropriately. That is just the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that shot. As for the other birthday photo, I really like it in b&w, it really shows strong emotion and props to you for getting that timing. There is a white blow out on the far right, I was wondering what that is? You can’t really crop that out but make sure for future shooting, compose it well. I would also say zoom out and shoot to the right a little bit, you could get a little bit more of greg’s arm and maybe some definition in that white blow out.

    Good job over all!!
