This week I tried a variety of things. I began with an attempt at using candle light. I used this sight for tips http://digital-photography-school.com/14-tips-for-great-candlelight-photography. The Buddha picture was done with candle light. The effect I was going for with the candle light never really materialized so I also attempted some fish tank photography. It was hard though because the inside of the tank was slimy so all my pictures looked hazy. Overall I am happy with my results for the week.

“The effect I was going for with the candle light never really materialized “….. What effect were you going for? What type of setup did you do for the candlelight shot? You got to give me more info!
For your shots- The buddah shot. What are you trying to say with it? The main thing that people associate with Buddah is is his belly yet you show only the face- why? Things like this are things that you need to think of when you are photographing and editing. Why are you including certain things? Why are you excluding what is outside of the frame? What are you trying to tell the viewer? It doesn’t matter if you are going for fine art, photojournalism or portrait photographer, your photo is going to tell the viewer something whether you like it or not. Because of this, you need to make decisions about what you are saying in the photo, you are in charge because it is your photo, at least you should be in charge.
I am pushing this because I know that you have the skills and abilities, when you push yourself to do it. Now, do it.
